FAQ

The questions we hear most — answered by the people who machine the razors.

FAQ

Where are Reggie's razors made?

Our razors' metal components are CNC-machined and finished in our own British workshop, from 100% UK-sourced billet — aluminium, brass, stainless steel and titanium. Where a component comes from a specialist partner, such as brush knots or blade cartridges, we say so on the product page.

What's the difference between a safety razor and a cartridge razor?

A safety razor uses a single double-edge blade held at a fixed angle — closer, cheaper per shave, and far less waste. A cartridge razor uses a multi-blade head (Gillette Mach3 or Fusion) for speed and convenience. We machine both to the same standard; choose the style that fits your routine.

Which safety razor should I start with?

The Jupiter Aluminium is our most popular starting point: a mild, forgiving head, a light 40-gram build and a lifetime guarantee, from £79. If you prefer a heavier razor that lets the weight do the work, look at the Saturn in stainless steel.

What is the Planetary Collection?

It's our product family. Every Reggie's product is named for a world — Jupiter, Saturn, Titan, Mercury, Eris, Luna, Pluto and, soon, Io. Same workshop, same tolerances, different instruments.

When does Io launch?

Io — our next double-edge razor with a skeletonised carbon-fibre handle — is in final development. Sign up to the Workshop Note in the footer and we'll tell you the moment it's ready.

Ordering & shipping

Is UK shipping really free?

Yes — every UK order ships free, regardless of size.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. International rates and delivery times are shown at checkout. Any import duties or taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.

Can I return a product?

Yes — see our Shipping & Returns page for how returns work. If something isn't right, contact us and we'll put it right.

Shaving

Which blades fit Reggie's safety razors?

Any standard double-edge blade fits the Jupiter, Saturn and Titan. Our Premium Blade Sampler includes ten blades from five makers so you can find your favourite.

Which cartridges fit the Mercury and Eris?

The Mercury range takes Gillette Mach3 and Mach3 Turbo cartridges. The Eris takes Gillette Fusion five-blade cartridges. Both are available in supermarkets worldwide.

I've never used a safety razor. Is it hard?

There's a short learning curve — use light pressure, keep the angle shallow, and let the razor's weight work. Our razors use mild head geometries designed to be forgiving. Most people are comfortable within a week of shaves.

Guarantee & care

What does the lifetime guarantee cover?

Every Reggie's double-edge safety razor is guaranteed for life against failure. Our cartridge razors carry a three-year guarantee. See the Guarantees page for full details.

How do I look after a machined razor?

Rinse after use, dry it, and store it somewhere it can breathe — that's most of it. See the Product Care page for metal-by-metal guidance.

Shipping & Returns

UK shipping

Every UK order ships free — no minimum spend. Orders are packed at the workshop and dispatched with tracked delivery. You'll receive a confirmation email with tracking once your order is on its way.

International shipping

We ship worldwide. Rates and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout based on destination. Please note that any import duties, customs charges or local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.

Returns

If something isn't right, contact us and we'll put it right. Unused products in their original packaging can be returned — get in touch via the Contact page and we'll walk you through the process.

For hygiene reasons, we can't accept returns of used blades, brushes or opened shaving cream unless faulty.

Faulty or damaged items

Every component is inspected before it leaves the workshop, but if anything arrives damaged or develops a fault, contact us straight away. Safety razors are covered for life; cartridge razors for three years. We'll repair or replace — that's the point of making things properly.

Guarantees

Lifetime guarantee — safety razors

Every Reggie's double-edge safety razor — Jupiter, Saturn, Titan and, at launch, Io — is guaranteed for life. If your razor ever fails through a defect in materials or workmanship, we will repair or replace it.

A razor machined from solid billet has no hinges, no plastics and no parts designed to wear out. The guarantee simply reflects how these razors are built.

3-year guarantee — cartridge razors

The Mercury and Eris cartridge razors are covered by a three-year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship. The guarantee covers the machined handle and head fitting; blade cartridges are consumables and aren't covered.

Everything else

Brushes, stands, cream, blades and accessories are covered by our standard returns policy. If something isn't right, contact us and we'll put it right.

What the guarantees don't cover

Normal cosmetic wear, damage from misuse or modification, lost components, and consumables (blades and cartridges). Anodised finishes are extremely durable but, like any finish, can mark if dropped on hard surfaces — see Product Care for how to keep yours looking its best.

Product Care

Every razor — the basics

Rinse thoroughly with warm water after each shave to clear cream and hair, then shake dry. Store your razor somewhere it can breathe — a stand or a dry shelf, not a wet shower caddy.

Once a week or so, remove the blade and rinse the head components. This is also the perfect moment to check your blade — most double-edge blades are best changed every 3–6 shaves.

Anodised aluminium (Jupiter, Mercury colours, Luna)

Anodising bonds colour into the metal surface — it won't chip or peel like paint. Clean with warm water and mild soap only; avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals, which can dull the finish.

Aluminium is corrosion-resistant, but dry your razor after use to prevent water spots, especially in hard-water areas.

Polished brass (Jupiter Brass)

Brass develops a natural patina over time — many owners love it. To keep the bright polished look, buff occasionally with a soft cloth and a small amount of brass polish, then rinse and dry.

Stainless steel (Saturn, Mercury)

Medical-grade stainless steel is about as low-maintenance as metal gets. Rinse, dry, and occasionally buff with a microfibre cloth to keep the hand-polished finish bright.

Titanium (Titan, Eris)

Titanium is exceptionally corrosion-resistant and needs no special treatment — rinse and dry like steel. The shot-blasted finish on the Eris hides everyday marks well; clean with warm soapy water.

Shaving brushes (Luna)

Rinse the knot thoroughly after each use, gently squeeze out excess water, and hang or stand the brush to dry with air around the bristles. Never store a damp brush in a closed cabinet.

Natural badger and boar knots benefit from an occasional gentle shampoo; synthetic knots need only a good rinse.

Blades

Store spare blades dry in their wrappers or in your Reggie's sliding tin. Used blades should go in a blade bank or the tin until they can be recycled with metals — never loose in household waste.

Double-edge blades

DE blades are a universal standard — every brand fits every Reggie's safety razor. Blades differ in sharpness and feel, and the right one is personal. Our Premium Blade Sampler includes ten blades from five makers — Kai, Gillette Nacet, Perma Sharp, Feather and Personna — so you can find your favourite for £12.

Cartridges

We deliberately built the Mercury and Eris around Gillette's Mach3 and Fusion systems — the two most widely available cartridges on earth. Wherever you travel, replacement blades are in the nearest supermarket.
